Our mission

We want the Historium to fill a gap in the tourist offerings of the city of Bruges. It’s a unique historical attraction, in which people are immersed in the city’s rich and colourful history, an interactive experience in which the modern visitor will feel perfectly at home. In short, a museum 2.0. In this age of fast evolving multimedia, we bring entertainment to the history of mediaeval Bruges.

The Historium’s multimedia setup emphasises interaction and personal experience and thus makes the attraction accessible to everyone. New, rapidly evolving media are now an integral part of our society and constitute, in our opinion, the future of tourism. Modern technology is helping us to awaken interest in the history of Bruges and is complementary to the further exploration of our beautiful city, its museums and heritage.
