We will be open for longer between Monday 27 December and Thursday 30 December. On these days you can visit the Historium Story, Historium Virtual Reality and the Historium Tower until 10 pm! This means you will have a lot more time to enjoy a magical Christmas in the Historium, on Bruges Market Square. The Duvelorium will also be staying open longer during this period. Enjoy a magical Christmas in Bruges!
This winter at the Historium you will be able to once again fully enjoy the Christmas atmosphere. Our building will have a light dusting of snow while Christmas trees and festive music will also add to the Christmas feel. Between the holidays (from Monday 27 December to Thursday 30 December) we have Winter Nights on which you can discover all of the Historium’s activities about Medieval Bruges until 10 pm.

Did you know that the Historium is open every single day of the year? You are also warmly welcome on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day during our special opening hours:

During the Christmas holiday period you can play the most impressive virtual reality games in VR Arcade Brugge alone or in a group. The VR Arcade is located in the inner courtyard of the Historium. You can make a reservation via the website or in person.
Historium Tower
Climb the Historium Tower for a breathtaking view of Bruges and the city’s splendid buildings. The Historium’s neogothic tower dates back to 1921, it has 145 steps and is 35 metres high.
WINTER SPECIAL: Open until 10 pm for an impressive view of the Christmas market and the beautifully lit city centre!
Please note: the observation point of the historic protected tower is narrow, and so is not accessible for everyone. The minimum height for visiting the tower is 1m40.

KIDS Christmas Trail
During the Christmas period, the Historium’s Family Trail will be temporarily transformed into the Christmas Trail. Families will be given an information sheet at the reception explaining the trail which contains fun things to do and find as well as a Christmas Tree Quiz. Every child who visits the Historium will receive a fun surprise.
