Looking for a group outing that truly brings history to life? The Wondrous Waterhalle is a new exhibition at the Historium specifically developed for groups and associations. Featuring authentic pieces from the Musea Brugge collection, an impressive ‘living model’, and accompanied by an experienced guide, you will be transported to 15th-century Bruges, when the Waterhalle was the beating heart of international trade. The guide tells the story behind J.B. van Meunincxhove’s masterpiece, introduces you to forgotten cityscapes, fascinating anecdotes, and daily life in medieval Bruges. The visit concludes with a summary virtual reality experience in which you rediscover the city – and the Waterhalle – in a surprising way, as if you were there yourself! This group package is ideal for associations, cultural clubs, or groups of friends looking for more depth, context, and a guided narrative.

Climb the neo-Gothic tower of the Historium for a breathtaking 360° view of the most important buildings and the Belfry. This ticket provides access to:

The entrance doorway is 45 cm wide. The lookout platform is narrow. There is a mock gate at the tower entrance: if you can pass through it easily, you can climb the tower without any problem.
For safety reasons, we advise against booking the tower for individuals with claustrophobia or a fear of heights.
A maximum of 10 people can climb the tower simultaneously. Minimum height 1.40 m.
Practical Information
Reservation required
Group visits for 15 people or more must be reserved at least 10 working days before your visit via the online reservation form. Your reservation will be scheduled and confirmed by means of a quote. After approval of the quote, the reservation becomes final and you will receive the invoice for the visit. Payment is made via bank transfer and must be settled before the visit.
This allows us to welcome you efficiently and ensures that waiting times are avoided as much as possible.
Options
You can also take an option. The option must be confirmed or canceled at least 10 working days before the planned visit.
Tour guides and bus drivers
Tour guides and bus drivers of groups receive free admission to the Historium.
Accessibility
The Historium is centrally located in the city, on the Market Square (Markt) of Bruges. We are within walking distance of the station, but are also easily accessible by public transport. Coaches are not allowed to enter the city center. All information about our accessibility can be found here.
