We have a picnic area available for school groups to use before or after their visit to the Historium. This space has a maximum capacity of 60 people and is free to access upon reservation, provided that one drink is purchased per person. Drinks cost 2.50 euros. Reservations can be made via simon.moeyaert@historium.be.

On our schools page, under the ticket overview and above the ‘Practical’ section. In the ‘Educational packages’ block, you will find various packages tailored to different target groups, each including the solutions. Furthermore, you can download the teaching materials here, which can be used to prepare for or follow up on the visit in the classroom. Please note: you must provide the educational packages yourself by downloading and printing them.

The duration of your visit depends on the chosen ticket, but please allow approximately 50 min. to 1h for the Historium Story and Historium Exhibition. If you select a ticket including the Historium Virtual Reality, please allow about 1h to 1h15.

If you are visiting with a school group and wish for your students to complete the educational package, please allow an additional 30 minutes.

Visitors are required to take their backpacks and handbags with them into the attractions. Please note: when visiting the tower, you cannot bring a backpack or handbag, nor can you leave them behind.

Should you wish to store any items, you may use the small lockers located on our basement level near the restrooms. Coats, bags, or backpacks can be stored here free of charge during your visit.

For security reasons, large bags or suitcases are not permitted and cannot be left at the Historium Ticket Desk. Luggage lockers are available for rent in the courtyard during Historium opening hours.

A baby changing table is available in the restrooms.

Free toilets are available for visitors (with your ticket) in the Historium basement. There is also a fully accessible toilet for persons with disabilities, which can be reached via the elevator.

Please note: those not visiting the Historium must pay to use the toilets.

Yes, we are open every day from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM. On Saturdays, you can visit us until 8:00 PM.

As a company, school, association, or organization, you may request a booking option for your visit by sending an email to simon.moeyaert@historium.be. Please include your contact details, group size, type of group, date, and preferred time. We will contact you as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can complete the online form so that we have all the necessary information immediately.

If you wish to change your reservation, please send an email to simon.moeyaert@historium.be mentioning your reservation details and the requested changes.

Major changes are possible as long as the reservation is not yet final. If the reservation is final, we will endeavor to find a suitable solution together.

Minor changes can always be arranged on-site at our reception desk.

As an individual visitor, you do not need to book your visit in advance; you may visit whenever it suits you best. We do, however, recommend purchasing your tickets online.

If you wish to visit with a school group or a group of 15 or more people, we recommend booking at least 10 working days in advance via the reservation form, which can be found on the Schools or Groups page.

Strollers are not permitted within the Historium attractions, but may be left at the start of your visit at the counter where you receive your audio guide for the Historium Story.

For reasons of safety and hygiene, pets are not permitted in the Historium Story, Historium Exhibition, and Historium Tower. An exception is made only for assistance and guide dogs wearing an identifying harness.

It is possible to visit the Historium Virtual Reality or the Duvelorium with a well-behaved dog. Please note: our staff reserves the right to refuse entry to a pet at any time.

• Historium Story: Some rooms in the attraction are very dark, which may cause difficulties for visitors with impaired vision or visual impairments when navigating the attraction. The story is projected and shown on screens, but the dialogues and narrator can be heard via the audio guide.
• Historium Virtual Reality: This experience is highly visual, but additional explanation and context are provided via audio.
• Historium Tower: Not accessible for safety reasons.

• Historium Story: Each visitor receives an audio guide to follow the narrative. An induction loop is available for the hearing impaired—please ask our staff for assistance. For the deaf, it may be more challenging to fully experience the attraction.
• Historium Virtual Reality: This experience is highly visual, though additional explanation is provided via audio.
• Historium Tower: Highly accessible.

The Historium is less suitable for individuals with claustrophobia.

• Historium Story: There are several dark, enclosed spaces. Panic buttons are available to exit the attraction if necessary.
• Historium Virtual Reality: This experience takes place in an open space. You may remove your virtual reality headset at any time.
• Historium Tower: Please be advised that the tower’s observation point is narrow and confined. The passage of the entrance door is 45 cm wide.

• Historium Story: Seating is provided in most areas of the attraction, though it may not always be clearly visible.
• Historium Virtual Reality: This experience is seated.
• Historium Tower: Seating is not available here.

Yes. For wheelchair users, we would like to refer you to the question regarding wheelchair accessibility.

• Historium Story: During the visit, you will use two staircases of 20 steps each.
• Historium Virtual Reality: /
• Historium Tower: The staircase consists of 145 steps.

Yes, the Historium is easily accessible for wheelchair users. All floors can be reached via the elevator in the building. Furthermore, an accessible toilet is available.

• Historium Story: Fully accessible with a modified route where the wheelchair user (and one companion) will be assisted by our team via the elevator. To ensure a comfortable visit, a maximum of 2 wheelchair users are permitted per show. The Historium provides personal assistance during the visit to the attraction. Consequently, during busy periods, wheelchair users may experience a short wait before starting the tour. The Historium Story is not suitable for electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters. A standard wheelchair is available at the Historium Ticket Desk for use during the visit (subject to availability). It is necessary for individuals with disabilities to be able to transfer independently from an electric wheelchair or mobility scooter to a standard wheelchair.
• Historium Virtual Reality: Fully accessible.
• Historium Tower: Not accessible.

As the attractions may be overwhelming for younger children, Historium recommends a minimum age of 7 years. Children under the age of 12 may enter the Historium when accompanied by an adult (16 years or older).

• Historium Story: Accessible to all ages. We utilize special effects, as well as sound and lighting effects. If you are sensitive to these, please be advised that you visit at your own risk.
• Historium Virtual Reality: The minimum age is 6 years.
• Historium Tower: Minimum height is 1.40 m.

Online tickets are valid for 6 months. You may present your ticket at the Historium Ticket Desk.

No, with an online ticket you can visit the Historium from the date of purchase until 6 months after this date.

Tickets can only be changed or exchanged for a later date at the Historium Ticket Desk. Tickets are non-refundable.

Online payments can be made using Bancontact, Maestro, Mastercard, Visa, or iDeal | Wero. Digital gift or culture vouchers from Edenred, Pluxee, or Monizze are also accepted.

Payment by bank transfer is only possible for groups and school groups, provided they are booked at least one week prior to the visit.

At the Historium Ticket Desk, you can pay electronically or contactlessly with Maestro, Visa, Mastercard, or in cash.
