General
These General Terms and Conditions govern the ordering of entrance tickets and the visitor’s visit to Historium Bruges. Every visitor who orders tickets and/or presents themselves at the entrance of the Historium is deemed to have read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions. The General Terms and Conditions may be changed by Historium at any time; the most recent version is always available on the Historium website.
The visitor enters the Historium at their own risk. The attraction is not suitable for persons suffering from claustrophobia or fear of the dark. The Historium is not responsible for loss, theft of, or damage to personal property during the visit, even if stored in the lockers, nor for physical injury.
The visitor shall take note of the current Visitor Regulations of the Historium, as displayed on the Historium website at the time of the visit, and is deemed to have accepted these regulations. Our employees are entitled to remove visitors from the Historium who do not comply with the visitor and access conditions, or who disturb (or threaten to disturb) the peace. In such a case, the visitor has no right to compensation. The visitor shall also always comply with the instructions and requests of Historium employees.
The Historium reserves the right to (temporarily) close the attraction without prior notice for technical, operational, or other reasons; under such circumstances, no refund will be provided. If the visitor has provided correct and complete contact details, the Historium will endeavor to notify the visitor regarding an unforeseen closure to the best of its ability, although this cannot always be guaranteed.
Tickets
Tickets can be reserved and paid for online or at the Historium ticket desk. The reservation process on the website can be carried out in the following languages, at the visitor’s choice: Dutch, French, and English.
Online reservation is only possible upon immediate payment using the provided payment methods (credit cards). When paying by credit card, the amount will be charged immediately at the time of the transaction. The consumer does not have the right to withdraw from the purchase. This also applies to locker rentals
The Historium confirms an online reservation with an email sent to the email address provided by the visitor. The offer of tickets at a certain price, on the website or otherwise, is only binding for the Historium when the reservation is confirmed as such. Once your reservation has been confirmed, it is no longer possible to change or reschedule your reservation.
The visitor must have the reserved e-ticket with them during the visit (digitally or on paper). School and group tickets are only valid for the reserved date stated on the entrance ticket. Tickets lose their validity upon the expiration of the validity date. Individual tickets are valid within the period stated on the e-ticket.
For schools and groups, the time or duration of your reserved time slot may be changed for technical reasons. The Historium cannot be held responsible for any resulting damage or costs for the visitor.
If one arrives late for the reserved time slot, no refund of the entrance fee or any other form of compensation will be received. We therefore request (school) groups to be present at least 5 minutes before the start of the reserved time slot.
Promotions and/or discount campaigns do not apply to this entrance ticket or to online entrance tickets unless explicitly stated in the promotional or competition terms. Tickets will not be replaced or reimbursed in case of loss or theft. A ticket that cannot be scanned to gain access to the Historium is invalid. The visitor is responsible for printing online tickets legibly. A ticket grants access to the Historium only once; copying or printing a ticket more than once is futile. Any rescheduling to a new time slot is considered a new reservation. The management reserves the right to change the entrance prices of the Historium at any time. The display of prices on the Internet or otherwise is not binding.
Modification or cancellation by Historium
From time to time, we are forced to make changes, correct inaccuracies, or cancel reservations both before and after confirmation of the reservation, and we reserve this right.
If significant changes or cancellation are necessary, we will notify you as soon as possible to the best of our ability if you have provided correct and complete contact details. However, we cannot guarantee under all circumstances that you will be notified before the planned visit. If this is still possible before your visit, you will be given the choice of the following options: a. to accept the modified ticket or b. to accept an alternative reservation offer from the Historium. This alternative will never exceed the amount originally paid by you. c. to cancel or accept the cancellation, in which case you will receive a full refund of the amount paid by you, or a voucher.
Please note: the preceding options do not apply when the change is of an insignificant nature. In all cases, our liability for significant changes and cancellations is limited to offering the options mentioned above. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse any expenses, costs, or losses incurred by you as a result of any change or cancellation.
Access
It is only possible to enter the Historium attractions with a valid entrance ticket. For schools and groups, the entrance ticket is only valid for the pre-reserved date. The visitor must keep this entrance ticket safe during their stay in the Historium and show it at the request of one of our employees. Visitors in possession of an e-ticket must exchange it at the reception desk for an entrance ticket to the Historium attractions.
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by their parents or at least one adult supervisor (16 years or older). Supervisors are always responsible and accountable for the behavior of the minors they accompany, both individually and in groups. The Historium reserves the right to check the age of children.
Facilities for the disabled
The Historium is fully accessible to wheelchair users who enter the Historium Story via the specially provided entrance. Wheelchair users are personally guided by our team. For operational reasons, a short waiting time may sometimes apply. For operational and safety reasons, a maximum of two wheelchair users have access per time slot. If you wish to deviate from this, a request must be made by telephone at tel. +32 (0) 50 34 80 36. If accompanied by a (blind) guide dog, one must report to the reception desk before entering the Historium Story.

Radios and other sound equipment, buggies and strollers, drinks and/or food, cameras, (hand) luggage, weapons, and explosives are not permitted in the Historium. Mobile phones and smartphones must be switched off or set to silent mode. (Pet) animals are not allowed in the Historium. This is with the exception of guide dogs provided they are wearing a dog jacket (assistance dog).

Smoking is not permitted in the Historium. Smoking is also prohibited in the courtyard of the Historium.
Force Majeure
Except where expressly provided in these reservation conditions, we unfortunately cannot accept any liability or provide a refund if the performance or immediate performance of our contractual obligations is hindered or affected, or if you suffer other damage or loss as a result of force majeure. For the purposes of these reservation conditions, force majeure means any event that we could not reasonably foresee or prevent. Such events include, but are not limited to: war or threat of war, riot or civil unrest, terrorist activities or imminent threat of terrorist activities, industrial unrest, strikes, natural or nuclear disasters, extreme weather conditions, fire, storm and flooding, virus outbreaks and pandemics, government-imposed closures, and all similar events over which we have no control.
Legal Provisions
Any dispute between a user of the Historium website and/or a visitor to the Historium on the one hand, and the Historium on the other, is governed by Belgian law, excluding Belgian private international law. Any dispute between the aforementioned persons shall be submitted exclusively to the courts of Ghent, Bruges division.
The visitor accepts that in the event of a dispute regarding (alleged) transactions, the data located on the Historium server may be used to prove or deny certain transactions.
During the ordering process on the website, the visitor has the opportunity to correct input errors by returning to the previous pages by clicking the indicated arrows. Before the final order is placed, the visitor is given an overview of the intended order. When the visitor pays for and definitively submits the displayed order, they have made a reservation, which becomes final and binding after confirmation by the Historium.
In the event of non-payment on the invoice due date, default interest of 1% will be charged on the outstanding invoice amount per month started, supplemented by compensation of 10%, with a minimum of 125 euros.
